Now we know that Barbie’s favorite furniture is Kartell. As Barbie’s 50th birthday festivities continues to happen around the globe, Kartell’s flagship in Milan has chipped in on the fun.
For this collaboration, Kartell has transformed its window displays into Barbie’s new pad decked out in Kartell ware. The Bourgie lamp, Charles Ghost stool, and Louis Ghost chairs by Philippe Starck adorned Barbie’s new home. The windows had been transformed into 6 settings, such as the bedroom and dinning room. Each room comes with a life-size Barbie donning vintage Moschino, occasionally accompanied by her male counterpart. Kartell has also produced two chairs, the Louis Ghost and Lou Lou Ghost embellished with Barbie’s profile.
In another spin-off for this project, Kartell is also issuing mini versions of their classic pieces packaged in boxes inspired by Barbie boxes for a fundraising charity auction for the Save the Children Foundation.
